Located in the heart of Kefalonia, this project represents a sophisticated structural reformation that bridges traditional context with cutting-edge engineering. Faced with a restrictive urban footprint and the necessity for enhanced spatial functionality, the design team initiated a dramatic architectural evolution. The objective was clear: transform an existing property into a multi-level contemporary masterpiece while respecting the stylistic sensibilities of the Ionian environment.

At the core of this intervention is a rigorous structural upgrade. To minimize loads on the original building base while drastically expanding the interior volume, a heavy-duty steel framing system was engineered for a seamless vertical expansion.

This advanced steel superstructure ensures maximum seismic resilience—a critical factor in the Ionian region—while allowing for expansive, column-free interior spaces and large architectural openings that maximize natural light.Architectural Language & TexturesThe exterior transition showcases an embrace of warm minimalism.

The final facade features clean, monolithic plastered geometry punctuated by deep-set, charcoal-toned architectural openings and traditional-style louvered shutters that pay homage to regional forms.
